TVH believes there is no better benefit it can offer its employees than by giving them the tools and support they need to live a healthier lifestyle. Throughout the year, TVH provides a little motivation for employees to commit to this lifestyle by offering a variety of popular Walking Challenges.
Recently, employees from across the Americas participated in the annual Summer Sole Tracker - Walking Challenge. A total of 211 employees took the challenge, 48 of who were participating for the first time. The ultimate goal of our Walking Challenge is to keep the employees engaged for 4 weeks in a competitive and cooperative game, motivating them to walk a minimum of 8,000 steps a day.
The participants reaped the health benefits, such as enhancing their mental clarity, enhancing their circulation, improving their sleep, as well as earning Nudge Points. Nudge Points are awarded to employees who participate in company sponsored healthy activities which can be redeemed for Nudge clothing and gadgets as reward for their healthy habits.
We had a great showing with three of our first time participants ranking in the Top 10 Steppers for the challenge. All together, the 211 employees successfully completed the challenge and achieved an average of 10,350 daily steps. "I really enjoyed doing the summer step challenge. I felt it was a great way to shed a few pounds and stay fit. I suggest you step it up!” said Luis Agosto – Warehouse/Grayslake.
Employees who participate in the Walking Challenge for the first time were eligible to receive a Garmin VivoFit 2 wearable device to track their steps. If they successfully completed the challenge, they get to keep their wearable device free of charge and receive 30 Nudge Points. Employees who participated in past challenges that increase their daily step average receive an additional 10 Nudge Points, and the Top 20 steppers get a special designed t-shirt with their names on it.
