As the leading provider of replacement parts and accessories, with 16 different locations in the Americas, we know our actions have a lasting impact on the environment around us. We use a variety of products and materials to fulfill our customers' needs and to keep our business running. However, if these products are not disposed of correctly, they can cause lasting damage to the environment.
Below are some tips TVH would like to share with you, our customers, about how to recycle some common materials and products in our industry:
- Technology is part of our everyday lives. We use it for personal and professional needs. We are constantly updating outdated technology, and although doing so is not a bad thing, outdated technology can easily become electronic waste (e-waste). E-waste ends up in landfills where toxic materials come in contact with the environment.
- E-waste ranges from phones, tables, computers, printers, laptops, TVs and more.
- To dispose of these devices correctly, you can take them to responsible recyclers like Best Buy and Savers or visit websites like earth911.com to look for the closest responsible recycler to you!
- When you buy new products from TVH, make sure to recycle the cardboard boxes, plastic and other kinds of recyclable wrapping our products come in.
- Hydraulic oil and motor oil can be recycled as well!
- Fluorescent lights are best recycled due to the small amounts of mercury they carry. The amount of mercury is not harmful to the user, but when accumulated in a landfill, it can become a problem.
- Having proper recycling sections for paper, plastic, glass and metals can go a long way!
This isn't just about getting rid of your old electronics and common materials, it's also about knowing that these small recycling actions lead towards a better and cleaner future!
