Founded in 1959 by Terzino Spaggiari and Alberto Alberti near Parma in Italy, the company hit the ground running in a period of solid growth and expansion of the plastic moulding industry. In 1970, SPAL Automotive started expanding its production, particularly manufacturing electric fans for the automotive industry. In 1980, SPAL Automotive moved to new office buildings, thanks in part to its ever-increasing investment in R&D. In 2000, SPAL Automotive started to expand internationally with several subsidiaries in China, USA, Brazil, India, the UK, Japan etc. 2010 was an important year as the company started producing brushless products. Today, SPAL Automotive is a frontrunner in brushless motor technology.
