About ECCO
ECCO is a global specialist in vehicle safety solutions based in Boise, Idaho (USA). When you think of backup alarms, work lights or mirrors, you think of ECCO.
The company was established by Carl Peterson in 1972 when he started marketing a limited line of backup alarms. In 1982, the company released the Smart Alarm, firmly establishing ECCO’s focus on product innovation. This drive for innovation was further displayed with the Reverse Motion Sensor, a backup alarm that activates whenever a vehicle rolls backwards.
Throughout the following years, ECCO steadily expanded its business endeavours and product portfolio, including amber warning lights, emergency vehicle warning equipment, lightbars, warning sirens etc. ECCO also opened an additional office in St. Louis, MI, and several offices abroad in England, France, Germany, Australia and China. To mark its global growth, ECCO changed its name to ECCO Safety Group (ESG).
