The test facility for hydraulic pumps and transmissions, the project of the KATHO-students that was realized under the wings of TVH, was recently declared the winner in the category product development of the Innovation Awards 2012. The winners from all 7 categories were announced during the finals on 7 November at CC Perron in Ypres.
The Innovation Awards are an initiative of the Business Centres of West-Flanders and Provincial Development Agencies West-Flanders. The goal is to motivate the students at the West-Flemish university colleges Howest, KATHO and KHBO extra when writing their theses.
The project by Jeffrey Pollet, Joris Tijtgat (electromechanics), Tom Lavent (electronics) and Bert Delaere (ICT) is a test configuration for all types of hydraulic pumps.
In the meantime Joris and Jeffrey, who saw their valued efforts rewarded with a cash prize of 500 euro, are already part of team H at TVH. For its collaboration in the project, TVH itself received a support by the innovation centre of 1000 euro.
TVH is very happy with this victory. It is the result of a fine collaboration between the turning shop, design office, purchase, electronics, workshop, ICT and facility. Each employee who contributed to the project is therefore considered a winner. At the same time this Innovation Award is an acknowledgement of the 'we are one' mentality TVH feels very strongly about.
