TVH started off in 1969 as a small company belonging to the 2 friends Paul Thermote and Paul Vanhalst. 50 years later it has grown into an organisation with over 6,700 employees. The family business, a global player in the field of lift trucks and industrial vehicles and their spares, has planned a jubilee year for its employees.
The TVH story is one of unbroken growth with its 2018 turnover being in excess of 1.6 billion euros. There are other impressive statistics: 191 branches for 65 businesses in 27 countries spread over all continents. Thanks to its continuous growth, TVH always has a range of job vacancies. Currently, these stand at around 150 in number, distributed across all departments from IT staff to technicians.
STAFF IN THE SPOTLIGHT ALONG THE E17
Extra events over and above the recurring annual activities are planned for staff in 2019: a family day, a film evening and to round off this year of celebration, a huge staff party.
TVH recently unveiled a large banner with a photograph of colleagues in the window of the new warehouse along the E17. The photograph illustrates the diversity of the extended TVH family with staff from various departments. One of the keys to TVH’s success is its family character.
NEW WAREHOUSE
Meanwhile the company is working hard on the new automated parts warehouse. The new premises will be a 12,000 m2 showpiece. This warehouse will be commissioned in various phases starting from mid-2019.
SEALED WITH A HANDSHAKE
The story began half a century ago in Gullegem when 2 friends merged their knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit. Paul Thermote had knowledge of American military lift trucks with just a few hours on the clock. And Paul Vanhalst sold lift trucks. They combined their skills and with a handshake at the coffee table the company Thermote and Vanhalst came into being.
In the years that followed, one successful takeover after another took place and the market share kept getting bigger. In 2004, TVH moved to its new head office in Waregem. Since then it’s impossible to miss TVH Group if you drive on the E17 between Waregem and Deerlijk.
