3 fast tips to optimise the lifespan of your tractor

A good functioning of your tractor is essential to keep your company running like a well-oiled machine.  Of course maintenance plays a crucial role in this. Below, we give you 3 quick tips to keep your tractor in optimal condition and which allow you to save a lot of unnecessary costs!

Tip 1: Schedule your tractor maintenance in time

Your manual by default stipulates how often a maintenance must be scheduled. Definitely don't postpone the maintenance beyond the agreed period, because this is the ideal moment to ...

Tip 2: Use the correct tractor oil for your engine

Regularly check the oil level, so that any oil leaks can be detected in time. By the way, did you know that you can't just use any standard engine oil to top up or replace your oil? Yes, it may be cheaper, but it may harm your engine and result in more costs in the long run. That is why you always need to opt for the correct, high-grade engine oil. The required engine oil quality is always specified in the manual by the engine manufacturer.

In addition, it is also important to use high-quality oil for the tractor transmission and the differential, although these two components are harder to check yourself. So definitely discuss this with your supplier.

Tip 3: Correct antifreeze to water ratio

In order to make your tractor resistant to extreme weather conditions, it is important to keep a close eye on the ratio antifreeze to water. If you don't pay enough attention to this, the cooling system will come under immense pressure from within and cracks may form in the cylinder block. These cracked cylinder blocks can result in very expensive repair costs.

To obtain the correct antifreeze/water ratio, you need to take into account the minimum temperature and the type of antifreeze that will be used. Or simply use one of our antifreeze coolants: we offer a blue standard coolant (REF 5579352) and a red coolant (REF 12035711) that contains organic corrosion inhibitors. This red coolant is recommended for modern engines containing newer technologies. Both products will protect your tractor in temperatures as low as -28 C°. Furthermore, these coolants will also prevent the formation of corrosion as well as foaming inside the cylinder block.
