Rieker is a worldwide leader in developing and manufacturing quality electronic and mechanical inclinometers.
The story started in 1917 when the Rieker Instrument Company started making inclinometers to be used in aviation. One of the most famous examples of Rieker's installations was the inclinometer on Charles Lindbergh's The Spirit of St. Louis in 1927.
In the early 1970s, Rieker was the right company at the right time for the construction market, with a solution to help operators identify safety limits for vertical tilt to prevent 'tip-overs'. Many OEMs applied the relatively inexpensive solution to their machines.
In the 1980s, Rieker once again developed a significant improvement for the construction industry with its Boom Angle Inclinator, to measure the angle of the lifting boom relative to the horizontal position.
Not resting on its laurels, Rieker continued developing solutions, transforming them into electronic units and laying the foundation for its current worldwide success.
