Our CEO, Dominiek Valcke, has been nominated as Manager of the Year.  In this 40th edition, Dominiek is one of five contenders for the title. He could easily become the successor to last year's laureate, Lieve Mostrey. The Manager of the Year is an initiative by Trends and Channel Z, who each year aim to place an inspiring business leader in the spotlight.

The candidates were announced on 7 November. This was also the starting signal for the online voting.

The independent jury led by Bart De Smet, Ageas's chairman, nominated five business leaders from a longlist of 20 names nominated by the editors of Trends. The five contenders have all distinguished themselves in a positive and relevant way. As inspirational business leaders, they ensured sustainable and remarkable results, and made outstanding management decisions that stimulated innovation and growth.

Trends interviewed Dominiek following this nomination. Typical of our CEO is his focus on the team. "The trick is to get the best out of your team." Moreover, according to himself, he is also "more like the coach alongside the field. That's how I make my team score. I help set the direction."
