The employees of parts specialist TVH donate 15 000 euros to two charities. Both BiJeVa vzw and Villa Berke were each presented a cheque for 7500 euros. The company organises various actions for charity throughout the year. For instance, a Winter market took place during the end-of-year period and a raffle was organised to raise money for the two non-profits. Those actions raised 7500 euros, an amount which the company doubled.
The company once again chose BiJeVa vzw as the charity for their Winter market this year. A second charity was Villa Berke vzw from Kortrijk. Isabelle Van de Voorde, Communication Manager, explains why they chose these non-profit organisations: "Villa Berke helps families who end up/risk ending up in poverty due to an unexpected situation such as illness or dismissal. BiJeVa helps families less fortunate by buying food, clothing and school supplies, and organising activities and holidays for their children. These are two great goals that fit perfectly with our vision."
MORE ACTIONS FOR CHARITY
TVH has its own social committee that regularly organises actions for charity. In doing so, they often choose charities that prioritise the human aspect. Isabelle elaborates: "In the workplace, we are pushing hard for the personal well-being of our employees. This is reflected in the great results we get every time we launch an action. Last year, for instance, we organised several fundraising events for the people in Ukraine. A fundraiser was also organised for a non-profit organisation closer to home, the social grocery shop De Kapstok in Pittem. Again with the aim of making those people's lives a little better."
TVH has committed to charity many times in the past, but in recent years it had been on the back burner due to the corona issues. "But since last year, we have been going at it 100 per cent again. We again participated in the YOUCA Action Day and organised a 'klaaskoeken' breakfast at the end of last year, and this year, there will be another edition of the bake sale. And also the Lignaverda Challenge will return, where we challenge employees to exercise more in exchange for planting trees in Senegal", Isabelle concludes.
