TVH ALERTS CYCLISTS TO DANGERS OF BLIND SPOT IN INDUSTRIAL ESTATE WAREGEM-ZUID
Waregem-based parts specialist TVH is once again committed to the safety of cyclists in the Waregem-Zuid industrial estate. On Tuesday, 3 September, TVH employees were posted along the Vichtseweg to raise awareness among passing cyclists about the dangers of blind spots in heavy traffic.
Every year at the beginning of the school year, TVH organises this safety campaign to make young people aware of the risks they face when venturing near lorries and other heavy traffic. This year, cyclists were greeted with delicious pastries and given an informative flyer on safe cycling in the industrial estate.
Frederik Hanssens, Safety, Health & Environment Manager at TVH, explains: "With this action, we want to raise awareness and prevent accidents. By informing young people in an accessible and practical way, we hope they will be more aware of the dangers and behave more safely in traffic. Safety is a top priority for us at TVH, both within our company and in our society."
TVH remains fully committed to the safety of all road users and hopes that this annual action will continue to contribute to a safer Waregem-Zuid. To support this, lorry drivers are asked to register in advance so that a signaller can guide them safely while docking at the loading dock. A special waiting area has been provided on-site, where lorries can temporarily park until the signaller arrives. While the current building doesn't fully allow this manoeuvre on its own premises, all new logistics hubs do, further enhancing safety.
