In September 2019, TVH and VIVES kicked off their partnership 'Become Electronic Technician', a training programme in which TVH employees from the Electronics department started an intensive and brand-new training programme. Last week, four proud TVH colleagues were presented with their diplomas. They have completed a course of 200 training hours, with lessons in electronics, power electronics and other technical subjects.

"But in practice, our trainees have certainly put even more time into this", says Lorenz Verfaillie, Director Electronics International at TVH. TVH’s Electronics department, Europe’s largest service centre for the repair of electronic parts for lift trucks, mobile elevating work platforms and industrial vehicles, employs about one hundred colleagues and experts in various functions. "The training consisted of practical and theoretical subjects, taught by both VIVES teachers and internal experts. The trajectory was the ideal way to pass on this in-house expertise."

The announcement of the results took place on 18 June, but TVH hopes to reward its graduate students later this year, when the corona measures will allow this again. "Electronic Technician is a bottleneck profession", says Lorenz Verfaillie. "So we are proud that – with this trajectory – we have been able to pass on the necessary knowledge to allow employees to eventually grow into this function."
