Agricultural spraying equipment

Agricultural sprayer parts are only effective if they are used in the right way. A good maintenance routine helps ensure that the equipment is working at its best. The following steps should be taken when performing maintenance on spraying equipment:

Clean the spray nozzles

The spray nozzles are critical components of spraying equipment. They must be in good working condition and correctly maintained to deliver an effective spray pattern.

First and foremost, drain the old crop protection products and store them properly for future use.

Clean the sprayer nozzles regularly. Before you start cleaning, run water through the nozzles to clear them of dirt and debris. Use a cleaning brush to gently remove any blockages. Remove the filter screen - if there is one - and clean it in soapy water.
Make sure to use the appropriate cleaning materials. Hard objects can scratch or damage the nozzles. Use a softer object instead to prevent damage.

Inspect the nozzle housing for cracks, loose parts, or other damage. If there is any doubt about the condition of a nozzle, replace it with a new one immediately.

And last but not least, use the right cleaning liquids so as not to contaminate the original liquids and cause chemical reactions. Not only clean the nozzles, but also rinse the hoses thoroughly, and drain the water correctly.

Check the flow rate

Make sure the flow rate matches what is specified on the sprayer's label or manual - this will ensure optimal coverage

If the flow rate does not match the recommended rate, adjust it by replacing the nozzles or adjusting their pressure regulator until you get the correct flow rate.

Check the pump pressure

It might be necessary to adjust the pump pressure depending on the application being carried out. The pump sprayer pressure should be checked with each use and adjusted to ensure a proper operating pressure range (usually between 30 and 50 psi). Refer to the sprayer's operating manual for specific instructions on accessing and adjusting pump pressure for various types of pumps and motors used on agricultural equipment.

Detect possible leakages in hoses

Check that all hoses are properly connected and there are no leaks. Should there be any, tighten the bolts or screws. If that is not possible, replace them with new ones.

Clean the tank

Drain and clean the tank. Use a hose to remove any dirt or residue from the inside.

Winter maintenance

During winter, it is advisable to add antifreeze liquids to the agricultural spraying equipment to avoid frost damage to the hoses.

Prevent problems and increase efficiency by regularly maintaining your customer’s spraying equipment.
