In 1969, in Waregem (West Flanders, Belgium), two close friends, Paul Thermote and Paul Vanhalst, embarked on a journey that would transform the industrial off-road machinery business. Their story began unexpectedly when one Paul bought a discarded army truck and the other Paul sold it, marking the start of TVH.

TVH was founded by the Thermote and Vanhalst families, who retained full ownership until 2021. In that year, D'Ieteren Group acquired a 40% stake, while the Thermote family continues to hold the remaining 60%.

TVH has a rich and successful history spanning over 50 years. What began as a small business has evolved into a multinational company. As both business units expanded - the parts business as well as the equipment business, the family shareholders reached an agreement on the long-term ownership structure and succession for their children. This led to the decision to bring in an external shareholder and to adjust the shareholding arrangement.

Changes in the company’s way of working are limited, and TVH continues to follow its planned strategy. We have a strong, people-centric culture rooted in our "We Are One" values, which will remain unchanged.

TVH Equipment focuses on the sale, rental, and repair of off-road equipment exclusively in Belgium. There is still some confusion, particularly in Belgium, as the two companies were once a single entity until 1st March 2015. They decided to separate based on a long-term vision and the desire to preserve their legacy for future generations.
