The Waregem-based head office of TVH - a global player in the material handling, industrial and agricultural machinery industry - is about to receive a modern expansion. The works have started and the new main building should be ready for use in 2021. On 3 July, the CEO, the Thermote and Vanhalst families, the contractor Alheembouw, the architectural firm DBG and the engineering firm BM Engineering gathered for the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony.

In April 2019, TVH started the preparations for the construction of a new main building between the existing buildings and the Brabantstraat. The design of the new building looks sleek, spacious and contemporary. Among others, HR, Finance, Corporate, Legal, Compliance and the management will move in in 2021.

Higher capacity

The future main building will provide a solution to TVH's imminent lack of space as a result of the company's strong growth. "We will provide an auditorium, a showroom, an extensive meeting centre, extra meeting rooms and a spacious restaurant with a patio," says Luc Rasschaert, Facility Manager EU at TVH. "The new main entrance leads employees and visitors to a high, open atrium with a spiral staircase. There will also be a connection to the current main building." Furthermore, we will also have spaces for 'activity-based' working. These will allow employees to withdraw to quiet rooms when they want to focus completely on specific tasks.

Renovation of the existing offices

The new main building will receive extra, light-filled offices, but the current offices will also be given a makeover. For example, TVH wants to provide better ventilation and create a versatile, 'activity-based' interior. The renovation is scheduled from March 2019 to September 2021. The project therefore runs parallel to the new construction project.
