Brigade is a pioneer in vehicle safety systems, particularly reversing alarms. 1976 marks the company's birth when founder Chris Hanson-Abbott introduced the first reversing alarm in Europe. Although Brigade was initially confronted with hesitation from its home market, the company tirelessly worked to introduce its revolutionary product. Today, reversing alarms set the tone for vehicle safety and safety systems have become universally accepted as a necessity.

The Brigade product range at TVH

Among the many vehicle safety systems, the best-known solution Brigade offers is the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS). A popular type is the Quiet Vehicle Sounder (QVS). This solution is typically found on hybrid and electric vehicles as they hardly emit any sound at lower speeds. This increases potential collisions with pedestrians. To counter this risk, Brigade developed the patented white noise system bbs-tek®. This system alerts everyone in the vehicle’s vicinity about upcoming traffic. This sound is clear but gentle on the ear and dissipates as soon as the vehicle has passed. People who work in the surrounding area will not be affected by unnecessary noise, which reduces the impact on their health.
Today, the white noise system bbs-tek® replaces the typical beeping sound of a vehicle backing up. Those generated noise complaints, and it wasn't always clear where the beeping sound was coming from, defeating its purpose.
