Since the end of March, a new billboard with #SamenErdoor ('strong together') and #StaySafe can be admired on TVH's main building in Waregem. It is visible from the E17 motorway. The company - a world player in the field of parts for material handling and industrial vehicles, and the rental, repair and sales of those machines - also repeats that message on an LED screen and through a creation with post-its. In full corona crisis, TVH wants to support people with this message.

Throughout Belgium, people are showing support to healthcare personnel and others who keep our country going. From white sheets and applause to posters and messages on social media. TVH uses its most popular medium for this: the billboard along the E17 motorway. "We know that the billboard reaches a lot of people," says Isabelle Van de Voorde, Corporate Marketing & Communications Manager at TVH. "Perfect for expressing our support and gratitude, to the outside world and certainly to our colleagues."

This is how TVH keeps it safe

TVH currently allows employees to work from home as much as possible, something that the IT department has rapidly made possible. Isabelle Van de Voorde: "After a successful testing period, we had just started implementing telework at TVH in phases. That process has been accelerated by the corona crisis."

Those who work in the company building are specifically and repeatedly asked by TVH to observe the measures regarding hand hygiene and social distancing. "Our Facility colleagues have installed many additional facilities such as hand gel dispensers and we create extra distance where possible. For example, we've halved the capacity of the company restaurant."

Staying up to date

In order to keep everyone informed and involved, TVH sends a corona update almost daily. Isabelle Van de Voorde: "But, communication in the opposite direction is now also very important. In order to find out about everyone's new situation, possible challenges and mental well-being, we sent out a survey to all our colleagues. The results are still coming in, but we already feel that there is a lot of support and comprehension for the situation. Everyone realises that our parts and services help to keep critical industries operational. It's certainly going to be a difficult period, with a drop in turnover and regional difficulties, but we'll get through this together."

#SamenErdoor - #StrongTogether

At TVH, the new mantra #StrongTogether, combined with the existing TVH slogan #WeAreOne stands for togetherness in this period. It also includes all kinds of new initiatives to stay connected and positive. "For example, we share tips about working from home, ergonomics, social contact (from a distance), exercise, stress and so on. But we also organised a drawing competition for our colleagues' kids, and we encourage a healthy diet through our digital TVH cookbook."
