TVH-COLLEGA’S VERPULVEREN DOEL VAN 75 000 KILOMETERS VOOR BOMEN IN SENEGAL

In May, the employees of parts specialist TVH were presented with a stiff challenge as part of the Lignaverda Challenge: racking up 75 000 active kilometres in four weeks. Through swimming, cycling and walking, the 706 participating colleagues swiftly reached their target. In fact, they covered nearly double the number of kilometres. In return for their strong performance, TVH will now plant 75 000 trees in the Great Green Wall in Senegal.

Needless to say that TVH's first Lignaverda Challenge was a resounding success. The company challenged its employees to this initiative in cooperation with Energy Lab and Entrepreneurs Without Borders. No less than 706 TVH employees committed themselves to collect at least 75 000 active kilometres together from 2 to 29 May 2022. If the target was reached, TVH would plant 75 000 trees in Senegal's Great Green Wall.

128 721 KILOMETRES

On 29 May, the challenge ended with no less than 128 721 km (!) on the counter. Niki Mistiaen, Employee Happiness Advisor at TVH, is enthusiastic about the result: "We didn't expect this challenge to be such a success. The employees needed just 16 days to complete the challenge. This shows enormous ambition and commitment among the TVH colleagues. The energy and enthusiasm with which they threw themselves into this challenge is in perfect keeping with that."

She continues: "We are proud that together with Entrepreneurs Without Borders, we can now plant 75 000 trees in the Great Green Wall. Through this reforestation project across the African continent, we will, in the same breath, provide CO2offsets, curb desertification and support local entrepreneurship in Senegal."

HEALTH COMES FIRST AT TVH

With Nudge, TVH has been committed to helping its employees get fit for some time. Recently, twenty colleagues - the Nudge Stars - took part in the Izegem quarter triathlon after six months of professional coaching by Energy Lab. Via the Lignaverda Challenge, they now urged all colleagues to exercise more. They were able to track their progress and see a real-time leaderboard on an online platform. They also received weekly motivational e-mails.
